In-N-Out Burger

Being in California for a work trip, I just had to go to In-N-Out. Turns out the nearest one was 75 miles away, about a one hour drive each way through the desert. It was absolutely worth the trip. I even got to stop by Mojave and Red Rock Canyon along the way to take some photos.

In-N-Out’s menu is very simple. There are only 5 things: Double cheeseburger, cheeseburger, hamburger, fries, and shakes. They actually have a “secret” menu, which is basically just variations in the preparation. I got the double double animal style (two patties, two slices of cheese, topped with thousand island dressing) with fries.

I’d say In-N-Out is on par if not slightly better than Five Guys. It’s cheaper and has a certain appeal that Five Guys just can’t replicate. Too bad there won’t be any opening up on the east coast. In-N-Out prides itself for using beef that is never frozen. This means all the franchises have to be within a one day drive from the distribution center. Maybe someone can convince them to deliver ingredients by air?
